F1 once more sees an increase in TV viewership

Formula One Management has revealed the television viewing figures for 2010.

Following one of the greatest season’s in the history of the sport FOM has said that there was an increase in terms of viewing numbers and hours of coverage. The 19 race season was viewed by 527 million individuals and saw 16,000 hours of coverage in 187 countries.

Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone said that “Whilst 2010 has delivered some great things, 2011 promises even more as Formula 1 seeks to build upon the foundations laid in our emerging markets and enthral our audiences across the world.”

For 2011 Formula 1 will be broadcast in high definition for the first time.
