Scassa slips past Parkes in a thrilling finish in World Supersports

On Yamaha’s return to World Supersport Luca Scassa delivered a victory for the Japanese manufacturer. The Italian, a former World Superbike racer, took victory by just 0.009s from Broc Parkes in a stirring slipstream battle at the front of the field. Championship rookie Sam Lowes, the reigning British Supersport champion, flashed over line in third place just behind Parkes. Pole sitter David Salom ended the race fourth, just 0.272s adrift of Scassa after a thrilling race.

The quartet opened a commanding lead over the rest of the field with Robert Harms 16s adrift at the flag after a lonely race ahead of James Ellison with Fabien Marino eight seconds adrift of the Englishman.
