HRT appeal rejected

Unsurprisingly both Hispania cars failed to set a time within 107% of pole position during this morning’s qualifying session. The team applied to the FIA for a dispensation to race but this was rejected by the governing body.

The team claimed that because of “exceptional circumstances” that they should be allowed to compete but after coming to the opening race with a car still to complete even a lap there was never any doubt that they would be too slow to qualify or that the FIA would allow them to compete.
