Terol leads the way after FP1

Opening practice for the Spanish saw Nico Terol continue to dominate in the 125cc class with the Aspar Aprilia rider topping the timesheets by 0.6s ahead of Sandro Cortese with Efren Vazquez the only other rider within one second of the fastest time.

Hector Faubel overcame an early fall to set the fourth fastest time ahead of Jonas Folger and Sergio Gadea with the trio all setting consistent times but each lacked the pace of the leaders and will have a busy morning trying to find a solution in time for this afternoon’s second session.

Rookie riders Maverick Vinales and Danny Kent both impressed to set times in the top nine with Alberto Moncayo rounding out the top ten.

There will be a field of 34 riders this weekend with numerous Spanish wildcards looking for a place on the grid. 17 year old Josep Rodriguez was the best of these runners today setting the 24th fastest time.
