Miguel Oliviera led the way after a wet second Moto3 practice session atJerez.
The Portuguese rider set his fastest time in the closing minutes of the session as conditions improved.
Sandro Cortese, pole sitter atJerezlast year, was second fastest narrowly ahead of Maverick Vinales. The championship leader rode within himself throughout the session and having ended the opening dry session in second position the Spaniard will be satisfied with his day’s work.
Jakub Kornfeil and Luis Salom rounded out the top five with both rider half a second off the pace.
Niccolo Antonelli was the leading rookie in the session with the Gresini rider sixth fastest with debutant Alex Marquez ninth fastest. The Spanish youngster, a teammate of Oliviera, had a crash during the session but he has shown enough potential today to justify his lofty reputation.
In tricky conditions Marquez was not the only rider to hit the floor with Danny Webb crashing heavily in the closing stages having set the 18th fastest time.
