Espargaro continues to dominate in Moto2

Pol Espargaro dominated final practice ahead of this afternoon’s Moto2 qualifying session at Silverstone.

The Pons rider ending the session with almost a full second faster than Scott Redding. Espargaro has been fastest in each practice session and with Marc Marquez crashing heavily at Woodcote the Spaniard will be very confident of bouncing back from Catalan crash with a victory.

Johann Zarco and Bradley Smith completed the top four but both were almost 1.5s off the pace. Andrea Iannone and Tom Luthi were fifth and sixth fastest.

The crash of Marquez in the closing moments of the session showed just how treacherous the conditions were during the 45 minute session where a cold track and spitting rain made it very easy for riders to make a mistake.

With similar conditions expected for qualifying this afternoon there is potential for some surprising grid positions.
