Further tests needed on Crutchlow’s injured ankle

It seems increasingly likely that Cal Crutchlow will not take part in qualifying ahead of tomorrow’s British Grand Prix.

Initial x-rays cleared the Englishman of having suffered a fracture to his left ankle following a heavy crash during final practice but he has not been brought to a local hospital for a scan to ascertain the full extent of his injuries.

Crutchlow was forced to miss last year’s race after suffering a fractured collarbone in qualifying and with his participation in this afternoon’s qualifying session now under threat the possibility of him racing tomorrow is also unclear.
