Jorge Lorenzo holds a 23 point championship advantage over Dani Pedrosa as the summer break ends for MotoGP but the 2010 world champion knows that he still has plenty of work to do if he is to win the title for a second time.
Speaking in Indianapolis the Yamaha rider was keen to stress just how competitive the premier class is this year:
“It’s going to be tough; Casey and Dani are very strong this year,” said the Spaniard. “We are also strong; compared to last year, much stronger. We have been very consistent, always in the first two positions. This is our main strong point; that’s why we are leading the championship.”
Lorenzo’s consistency has been his hall mark in recent years and he knows that maintaining his form for the rest of the campaign will be crucial if he is to have a successful championship challenge.
“[There is ] still eight more races to go, so we must keep more or less at the same if we want to be World Champion.”
