Stoner admits that Lorenzo is riding better than ever

With the MotoGP season resuming following its summer break Casey Stoner has admitted that his championship rival, Jorge Lorenzo, is riding better than ever.

Speaking before the Indianapolis Grand Prix the Australian commented that, “he’s been riding pretty much flawlessly this season,” when asked for his thoughts on Lorenzo.

“We thought his season in 2010 was impressive and, in my opinion, this season is even more so,” continued the reigning champion. “Except for the incident with Bautista [at Assen,] which there’s a very good chance he would have won that race, at least probably being in the top two, he would have kept that one or two result for the whole season. So it’s been very difficult to get on top of him.”

With Stoner trailing Lorenzo by 32 points in the standings a repeat of his Indianapolis success of last season will be crucial if the Australian is to maintain his championship assault.
