The pair, sitted next to one another, had been laughing and joking with each other throughout the 20 minute press conference and when the question arose Crutchlow offered a good natured response:
“Do you want me to answer both questions?” said the Tech3 rider. “I can because Pol’s given me his microphone so I can answer both! We know that Pol is fast and I think that it’s only right that Yamaha look to other riders and speak to other riders…maybe I’m doing a bad job! It’s obvious that they want to speak to other riders so I think that Pol will answer the question on if he has contact with Yamaha.”
“I’m focused on Moto2 and I’m not thinking about MotoGP,” said the Moto2 pole sitter. “I’m happy that I am in contact with Yamaha because they are a big factory and a good one. It’s always nice to listen to something like this but we have had a lot problems this year so I think that thinking about MotoGP is too far and too complicated. We’ll see what will happen next year. Cal’s doing a very good job believe me.”
Crutchlow has been keen throughout the weekend to dismiss speculation over his future and instead focus on the upcoming races and continue his strong form from the opening five rounds of the championship.
