In keeping with his progress throughout 2013 Marc Marquez has adapted to Laguna Seca quickly. The Spaniard ended the opening session third fastest but said afterwards that “I think I can find more time.”
When asked after the opening session how he assessed his performance the championship leader said:
“The track so tight but lap by lap I improved and I felt better,” said Marquez. “Also the conditions were not the best; quite foggy and wet. It was difficult to be confident in those conditions but I improved and felt better on the last exit.”
When asked about the challenge of the Corkscrew and Laguna Seca Marquez said:
“I still need to find the best line and avoid the bumps. The most difficult part of the Corkscrew is the braking point, you need to be clever and change direction at the correct moment but I felt better from the beginning.
“It is very difficult to manage the wheelie but it is one of the tracks where when you are fast you enjoy it more! The downhill section is the most difficult part. Corner one is also difficult and you need more laps to find out where to open the gas and close the gas. I think I can find more time.”
