Aleix Espargaro had to settle for 11th on the grid for tomorrow’s United States Grand Prix after a very competitive qualifying session that saw the Spaniard less than one second off the pace but starting down the grid.
After the session Espargaro said:
“I expected a little bit more because yesterday we were half a second from the first riders,” said Espargaro. “Today wasn’t bad though, less than a second isn’t a big distance but obvioulsy the grid position isn’t really good. I’ll push the first lap as fast as I can and try and follow the Ducati’s. We need to know the track temperatures tomorrow before we know but I’ll try.”
By making it through to Q2 automatically Espargaro has now made it through to five consecutive Q2 sessions.
