Bradl: My leg is good but lacking feeling

stefan-bradl-2-valencia-motogp-fp2-2013Stefan Bradl continues to recover from a leg fracture at mid-October’s Malaysian MotoGP, the German admitting quite at full fitness ahead of the season ending Valencia Grand Prix.

But Bradl, riding for the LCR Honda squad, had a solid opening day at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit with the sixth fastest time.

With the opening practice of the day run in sunny and warm conditions the afternoon session was run in contrasting windy conditions. It made for a difficult situation for riders and engineers but overall Bradl was pleased.

Speaking exclusively to Crash.net the 2011 Moto2 champion said: “It was OK. The wind was a bit too much in FP2 but overall it was still OK and for everyone it will be the same.

stefan-bradl-2-valencia-motogp-fp1-2013“I tried the new rear tyre and I expected it to be better and the situation with the tyre is not clear so we’ll have to try it [again] tomorrow and make a decision for the race. I used the soft and hard tyre today and both worked OK but we’ll see what the decision will be for the race; we’ll need some information from the morning practices.”

When asked about the condition of his leg, Bradl admitted that he was still not back to full fitness but was pleased with the progress that has been made lately:

“My leg is good, it doesn’t have enough feeling for the rear brake, but it’s OK.”

Bradl is 14-points behind fellow satellite Honda rider Alvaro Bautista in the fight for sixth in the standings.
