Making your Grand Prix debut is special for anybody. Whether you are a rider, a mechanic or in my case a journalist.
In June 2011 I made by MotoGP debut at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. After spending a lifetime watching racing and being enthralled by every facet of motorsport this was an amazing and unforgettable experience.
Having attended numerous races over the past 15 years whether it is Formula 1, Superbikes, MotoGP, Sportscars, Rallying or Road Racing nothing could prepare me for the weekend at Silverstone where for the first time I was able to enjoy a Grand Prix from the “other side of the fence.”
Sitting trackside just ten feet from the action at some points was superb and allowed me to get a much greater understanding of the challenges that the riders face, as well as showing me just how talented they really are.
The only problem with getting access such as this however is that now I’ve a hunger for it!
